Recently, Bury New Road project resident artist, Louise Garman, has been creating huge multi-media hangings, silkscreens, watercolours and sketches based on walks through the incredible natural and former industrial environment around Drinkwater Park, Prestwich Clough and Philips Park.
Teaming up with Incredible Edible Prestwich and District, these artworks are to be presented in a major solo show, titled Human Nature, in the Barn and forest garden within Philips Park on 24th and 25th August.
Leading up to the exhibition, Louise Garman, who graduated from Chelsea School of Art and studied at the Royal Academy and Slade, is a director of neo artists in Bolton, and has exhibited all over Greater Manchester and Europe, as well as running art workshops everywhere from HMP Manchester to RHS Bridgewater, will be leading a dozen art workshops for community groups in the area, including two free open workshops for adultswith all materials provided and places limited to 15 at each event…

“I have created a series of work based on colour, nature and man’s influences on the planet, from pylons to sky trails cutting through and slicing natural shapes and shades, using watercolours on a huge scale to play with perspective and unusual compositions” says Louise Garman “Are they sky, earth or another dimension?
